Choir conductor/MD
A great opportunity in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire for an aspiring or experienced choir conductor.
Cantorion Llandeilo Singers is looking for a new conductor/musical director from April 2025 or earlier to take over this well-established and enthusiastic choir.
Past repertoire includes oratorios accompanied by professional musicians, soloists, and orchestral players, some lighter music from shows and popular songs as well as seasonal music as appropriate.
A new MD would be able to shape future programmes in agreement with the committee who look after the admin and general running of the choir.
The choir regularly numbers 40 singers but our recent performance of Mozart's Requiem boasted 60 voices.
As a non-auditioned community mixed-choir some members are good music readers and others need help to learn the parts, especially in the earlier rehearsals, but with the right training and encouragement they are capable of a great sound and have earned some very good reviews.
There is remuneration for this position to be discussed on application and rehearsals are currently in term time on Monday evenings.
To express your interest or ask further questions, please email or phone Sheila Dallas, Chairperson, at dallassheila@myphone.coop or 07851 786569.
The next step would be to take part of a rehearsal with the choir followed by an informal discussion with members of the committee.
