The Choir

New singers are welcome in all sections – soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. There are no auditions. You just have to enjoy singing and want to learn. We rehearse on Monday nights 7.30–9.00 p.m. In the winter we are in the Civic Hall, Crescent Road, Llandeilo, SA19 6HW.  In the summer we practise in St Teilo's Church, Llandeilo, SA19 6BH. For more information contact Sheila on 07851 786569 or just turn up on a Monday night.

Founded in 1989 as the St Teilo Singers with Elwyn Jones (1925-2011), the choir continued under the dedicated leadership of Richard Whitehead for ten years until 2014, when Gordon Kilby took over as musical director and renamed it Cantorion Llandeilo Singers. Gordon is now President and Artistic Director.

In September 2021 Colin New (right) became Musical Director and Conductor. Colin has a huge amount of experience in music education and performance from his career as a secondary-school music teacher and Deputy Head of a large and successful music service. He is also a performer and accompanist on piano, double bass, and guitar, as well as having been a director of a mixed choir for over 30 years.

As Colin is in the process of moving from the area, we are delighted that Richard Whitehead has returned to prepare the choir for the next concert on Saturday 23rd November 2024.
