The Choir

New singers are welcome in all sections – soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. There are no auditions. You just have to enjoy singing and want to learn. We rehearse on Monday nights 7.30–9.00 p.m.  We practise in St Teilo's Church, Llandeilo, SA19 6BH. For more information contact Sheila on 07851 786569 or just turn up on a Monday night.

Founded in 1989 as the St Teilo Singers with Elwyn Jones (1925-2011), the choir continued under the dedicated leadership of Richard Whitehead for ten years until 2014, when Gordon Kilby took over as musical director and renamed it Cantorion Llandeilo Singers. Gordon is now President and Artistic Director.

In September 2021 Colin New became Musical Director and Conductor.

Richard Whitehead returned to lead the choir in the concert on Saturday 23rd November 2024, and Colin New returned to conduct us on Saturday 29th March 2025.

We are now delighted to announce that Imogen Evans has been appointed as the new Musical Director and Conductor of Cantorion Llandeilo Singers. Imogen graduated from King’s College London with a Bachelor of Music Hons.  She achieved distinction playing the harp, piano, guitar, and violin, is a soprano soloist, and can also play the saxophone and ukulele. Imogen has performed in numerous ensembles across Wales, and also conducts another choir in Carmarthenshire.
